CIH 2008 Green Plan
Ocean Media Group works to reduce the carbon footprint of CIH 2008
This year Ocean Media, organisers of the CIH Annual Conference and Exhibition in Harrogate, strengthen their resolve to improve the environmental sustainability of the event.
When delegates register they will receive their badge - but this year not in a plastic badge holder - and their environmentally friendly jute delegate bag which is both biodegradable and sustainable.
Within the exhibition halls there will be recycling points for paper, plastic and tin as well as an exhibition feature focusing on energy conservation - delivering an environmental code for both landlords and residents.
They are also cutting back on the amount of printed literature pre-event and sending out ezines and brochures in electronic format wherever possible.
Exhibitors are being encouraged to follow the green plan for instance using low energy lighting.
And as far as carbon emissions are concerned, the organisers are promoting their enhanced coach and shuttle service in the hope that the number of cars coming into Harrogate will be reduced - good news for air quality in North Yorkshire!
This is the start of programme to work towards a greener, more environmentally friendly event.
