Housing for an ageing population: Living with dementia

Thu 28-Jun-2018 12:55 - 13:40

Session description:

The shift in demographics towards a growing and ageing population is putting increasing pressure on housing, care, NHS and other public sector services. When you look deeper into the role housing has in supporting people to age-well is obvious that homes that can be designed and adapted for people as they age will be increasingly relevant. The breadth of stakeholders involved in dementia care is significant and ranges from clinicians, to carers, to police and fire services, design professionals and housing supply. Communication between these stakeholders is not always consistent or productive – How can the role of housing be developed and coordinated to support our ageing population?
