Unpaid carers play an important role in our society. Many carers derive satisfaction and pride from their roles yet caring can come at a personal and financial cost.

One in ten people in the UK are carers* and you are very likely to have carers working for you, whether they have told you or not. Supporting them to manage their caring responsibilities and work can reduce stress, improve performance and satisfaction, and decrease staff turnover.

In this session, you will hear practical advice on how to be a carer friendly employer. Hear from those with lived experience of caring to better understand the everyday realities of juggling both paid work and care and what they need from employers. Hear from those who have signed up to "Harry’s Pledge" and are implementing flexible policies and a supportive culture.

Ultimately, you will learn about achievable and inexpensive changes that can make a positive difference to so many people.
