In 2019, 250 people took part in the Housing event’s first ever hackathon to tackle homelessness. We asked delegates to come up with practical ideas to help address the problem of homelessness. There were so many great ideas generated, but the winning idea was to create a virtual identity service and locker that would enable homeless people to recover their important identity documents and thus be able to access vital support services. This idea was picked up and is now being piloted in Greater Manchester. Find out about their journey and some early results experienced so far.
